Arlington Life Shelter
The Arlington Life Shelter's "Hearts to Home' campaign is focused on renovating the facility with an emphasis on making their space more welcoming for the growing number of homeless families seeking services. The organization's $4.5 million effort will provide a new family wing with an additional seven bedrooms and bathrooms as well as providing for a larger children's room, an infant/toddler room, a teen room and an incredible outdoor playground built into the center of the new facility. The expansion will also provide new meeting spaces for counseling, health and legal services critical to helping families during their housing transition and recovery.
The Shelter's vision is to create a space where children will have the opportunity for recreation, a place to study, and most of all place to live with their family to help them maintain some sense of normalcy during their temporary shelter housing. The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation grant will underwrite the development and construction of the playground which will serve as the centerpiece of the new family-centered programming.

Friends of the Levitt Pavilion
As the Friends of the Levitt Pavilion celebrate a decade of enhancing the city's performing arts, they remain squarely focused on ensuring the best fan experience possible. To that end, the organization has launched a capital campaign to bring an enclosed entertainment area and built-in restroom facilities to Founders Plaza.
The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation was delighted to help in these efforts by providing a grant to help propel the project over the $1 million mark and to demonstrate our continued support for their mission to provide "free music under the star.'

Texas Health Resources Foundation
Texas Health Resources staff and administrators recognize the stress and concern families feel when an infant is under the care of the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). To that end, the hospital launched the Peek-a-Boo webcam system by AngelEye Camera to the unit as way to help enhance the NICU experience for families and to provide instant and constant connection to their babies as they are cared for by hospital professionals.
The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation grant matched the Texas Health Resources contribution to the project. Our gift will underwrite the expenses related to the purchase of equipment and software which will make the project complete by January of 2018.

Arlington Charities
Our grant made is possible for Arlington Charities to replace its primary walk-in freezer. The freezer is critical to the ability for the group to serve its clients in need of food assistance.

Arlington Urban Ministries
The Foundation's gift targets the organization's Thriving Families Program which assists clients with a portion of one month's rent or utilities, as well as provide one to two days of meal assistance.
Clients with a financial crisis may apply to the Thriving Families Program once every 12 months. Household income for an Arlington Urban Ministries (AUM) client is at or below 30% of the median family income for Arlington.

Catholic Charities of Fort Worth
Catholic Charities provides demand responsive rides to its clients with insufficient access to transportation for employment, medical, and quality of life needs. Through our grant, the demand responsive trips are provided at the time and location needed by the individual client, rather than traditional fixed route services, which may not be accessible or useful to each individual client. The clients served are almost entirely low income, supporting their families on less than $35,000 annual income. In 2016, Catholic Charities provided over 88,000 rides throughout the program and expects to 90,000 rides, to over 4,500 individuals in 2017.

Child Study Center
Child Study Center evaluates, medically manages and treats children with over 130 developmental disorders. Autism, intellectual disability, genetic abnormalities, speech and hearing problems, and ADHD are all included in the broad term developmental disability.

The Children's Care Fund was established to help impoverished and lower income children with special needs. The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation $20,000 grant underwrites support for Arlington residents seeking Child Study Center services. This funding will benefit Arlington children from August 2017 to July 2018 and is expected to support as many as 250 children.

Communities Foundation of Texas - 2017 North Texas Giving Day grants and bonus funds
The Communities Foundation of Texas created North Texas Giving Day in 2009 to increase giving to the region's nonprofits by motivating people to donate to their charities of choice through an 18-hour online giving site.
The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation designed our Arlington Gives! Concert and supporting activities to leverage the North Texas Giving Day regional event for the benefit of Arlington-based charities.
Specifically, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation awarded $50,000 in bonus funds and grants throughout the 18-hour affair. Additionally, because of our promotional efforts, more than $1.3 million was contributed by almost 5,000 donors to our local organizations participating in North Texas Giving Day.
Groups receiving grants included:
$5,000 grants to The Ulster Project, Grace Prep Academy, Friends of the Levitt Pavilion, Dance Theatre Arlington, Mission Arlington and Arlington Charities. An additional $20,000 was divided among 35 charities with annual operating budgets of less than $250,000.

Community Partners of Tarrant County
Community Partners' Rainbow Room provides free pack n plays, portable cribs and car seats to clients involved with Child Protective Services. The Foundation's grant will help supply these items to the organization for distribution to some of the city's neediest families.

Dental Health Arlington
Dental Health Arlington launched a capital campaign to build a new state-of-the-art dental clinic to better serve residents seeking dental care. Our gift helped underwrite expenses related to remodel the Sanford Street office space with new dental operatory chairs, as well as new x-ray and sterilization equipment.

Development Corporation of Tarrant County (DCTC)
Because the current real estate market has made it challenging for Arlington's low-to-moderate income buyer to purchase quality homes, DCTC's programs offer working families a pathway to home ownership.

The Foundation grant will help DCTC build up to 2 single family homes with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 car garage and approximately 1690 square feet. Our grant funds are dedicated to the purchase of land for the construction projects.

H.O.P.E. Tutoring Center
The organization is expanding their after-school tutoring to include a new program, Second Reading Edition. The project will be a six-week program in June/July where a student will meet with a volunteer tutor (1:1) for 1 1/4 hours, twice a week. The program offers equal parts reading and math skills tutoring.

Our grant will support the costs associated with the expanded programming.

International Folk Art Alliance
Arlington is the first location outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico, to host the tremendously popular International Folk Art Market.

Like the Santa Fe market, our International Folk Art Festival celebrates the tradition and cultural diversity of our world through art, education, entertainment and cuisine.

Organizers expect to attract more than 4,000 visitors during the festival and will host thirty five international artists. Our grant will help support the marketing efforts associated with the event.

Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County
Meals on Wheels provides home-delivered meals, professional case management, and other needed items or services to elderly and disabled homebound residents of Arlington in response to several community needs: malnutrition, food insecurity, social isolation, poor mental and physical health.

Our grant will help underwrite costs associated with providing fresh, nutritionally balanced meals to homebound elderly and disabled residents of Arlington.

SafeHaven of Tarrant County
The Foundation's grant will help SafeHaven provide over 6,000 hours of individual counseling, play therapy, family therapy, and peer support groups for children and adults to approximately 900 women and children through the Arlington Emergency Shelter and Arlington Resource Center.

All services are provided at no cost to SafeHaven clients by counselors trained internally in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT). This evidence based psychotherapy model combines trauma sensitive interventions with cognitive behavioral therapy to effectively address the needs of individuals experiencing post traumatic stress disorder or other behavioral problems related to traumatic life experiences. $20,000
Sixty and Better, Inc. Sixty and Better, Inc., Wellness Programs addresses two problems for older adults: 1) managing chronic diseases and 2) avoiding falls that endanger lives.

The Foundation's grant will help underwrite free workshops for as many as 176 older adults. The events will be led by two trained lay leaders, focusing on diet, exercise, communication with healthcare professionals, specialized training focused on fear of falling, strength and balance exercise, fall prevention, and prevention of hazards at home.

The Warm Place
The mission of The WARM Place is to provide year-round grief support services to children ages 3 ½ to 18 and their families, as well as young adults ages 19 to 25, who have experienced the death of a mother, father, sister, brother, grandparent, or other loved one. The primary goal of The WARM Place is to companion children and their surviving family members through the grieving process and help them overcome grief issues to reduce the likelihood of long-term physical and mental health problems and to restore their joy of life.

Funds from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation will provide the Grief Support Program for one year to 10 families from Arlington. While the average length of enrollment in our program is nine months, some families stay up to two to three years. $15,000
Theatre Arlington We were delighted to offer our grant to help Theatre Arlington's vision is to become the premiere choice for live performance and theater education in North Texas by supporting Theatre Arlington's 2016 2017 Production Season - Fun in the Footlights, which opens September 9, 2016 and continues through August 20, 2017.

Vernon Wells PERFECT 10 Charity
The organization addresses child hunger among Arlington Independent School District elementary school students and their school age siblings. Specifically, the charity is addressing food insecurity among these children during the weekends.

Our grant helped PERFECT 10 provide students from Peach Elementary School with weekend packs of food on a weekly basis throughout one school year.
