The Arlington Police Department invites you to participate in the 40th annual National Night Out (NNO) crime, drug, and violence prevention program sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW). The event will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 and is expected to involve hundreds of Arlington residents and millions across the country.

The purpose of National Night Out is to build strong partnerships between the police and communities and to promote crime awareness programs such as Neighborhood Community Watch groups. According to NATW, last year's event was the largest ever that involved 37 million people in 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide.

Residents are encouraged to turn on their porch lights and gather with their neighbors to show unity against criminal activity. Registered communities may be visited by public service personnel such as those from police, fire, and emergency medical services.

The City of Arlington has participated in National Night Out for more than 20 years. This past year, the City of Arlington ranked second among the largest cities in the nation. Without your help, NNO would not be possible. If you would like to help the City of Arlington take a proactive stance against crime and compete for another national award, please register for National Night Out in your community.

National Night Out - Project 365

Project 365 was introduced in 1994 by the National Association of Town Watch as a component of National Night Out. Project 365 seeks and addresses specific problem areas within the community and works with the community and other organizations to make a positive change.

In 2023, APD is supporting Child Protective Services / Child Protective Investigations (CPS / CPI) by collecting NEW items for the agency's Tarrant County Rainbow Room. Rainbow Rooms are centers where CPS / CPI caseworkers can obtain items like clothing, diapers, school supplies, and more for children who are in their care.

Please see the below flyer to learn more about the items that are needed and where your neighborhood can drop them off.
