It's a Scholarship Program for children (four months to 16 years of age) to register for any Arlington Parks and Recreation Department youth programs. The scholarship is funded by the Community Development Block Grant.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Eligibility is based upon federal income guidelines and is available to Arlington residents only. Due to limited funding, scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. This scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship.

ACCEPTED DOCUMENTATION TO VERIFY INCOME:

  • Proof of residency required (utility bill or lease agreement, NO driver’s licenses)
  • Proof on income is also required. Applicants can submit one of the following:
    • Federal Income Tax Return (No W2s)
    • Current pay stubs (enough equal to one month’s income)
    • Government assistance award letter (current Medicaid Card, SNAP Award Letter within the last six months, SSI, CHIPS Insurance Card showing eligibility dates)

HOW TO APPLY:

Please click the link below and complete an application. If funding is still available, you will be contacted to finalize your application including a $5 application fee. Income verification and registration for classes will be required at the time of application approval. Upload your documents online for faster processing. Up to two sessions of programs will be awarded per child.

 

  Thank you for participating in our Spring/summer Build A Dream scholarship program. We are currently out of funding for this program year. More funding will be available in July 2024. Please check back to apply for more scholarship opportunities.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

The scholarship funding covers all individual month-to-month memberships and activities available at the time of registration. Scholarship cannot be used for rentals, contracted activities, or any adult memberships or activities.

Credit for activities purchased with the Dream Scholarship funds is non-refundable. If activity or program is cancelled or a participant is withdrawn, the dream credit must be used within 72 hours. A parent must withdraw a child from an activity at least 72 hours prior to the start of the first class in order to transfer the child to another activity. If not, the child will remain registered in the activity whether or not the child attends and the credit will not be given back.
