The City of Arlington receives federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to improve neighborhoods, create economic opportunity and provide quality affordable housing:

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

CDBG provides funding to help create viable neighborhoods by providing decent housing, suitable living environments, and opportunities to expand economic development, principally for low- and moderate- income persons.

Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG)

The ESG grant provides funding for homeless shelter operations, essential services for homeless persons, and rapid rehousing of homeless families.

Activities and projects must meet HUD eligibility and regulatory requirements, as well as address needs identified by the community, and are outlined in the City’s 5-year Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan.

HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME)

The HOME grant provides affordable housing opportunities for Arlington residents, including but not limited to the first time homebuyers’ assistance, housing rehabilitation program for low/moderate-income homeowners and rental assistance for low-income households.
