The City of Arlington is proud to announce that it is the third local government entity in the state to receive all five transparency stars through the Texas Comptroller’s transparency program.

The Comptroller’s office launched the Transparency Stars program in March 2016 to recognize cities, counties and school districts making strides to greater government transparency by providing easy online access to important financial data. The City of Arlington has earned stars for transparency in Traditional Finances, Contracts and Procurement, Economic Development, Public Pensions and Debt Obligations.

“By receiving all five Transparency Stars, Arlington has shown it’s a leader in the quest for government transparency,” said Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar. “Arlington citizens have every right to be proud of their city’s effort to open its books to the public, and give its voters the information they need to make informed decisions at the polls. It’s an example I hope all Texas local governments will learn from and follow.”

McKinney and Richardson were the first two cities to receive all five Transparency stars.
