Gina Piner

“The best part of volunteering is feeling like I make a difference in the live release rate.” - Gina Piner, 2014 Bill McCart Volunteer of the Year Award recipient

We are proud to recognize Gina Piner as the 2014 Bill McCart Volunteer of the Year for Arlington Animal Services. Gina has been an Animal Services Center volunteer for 11 years and she spends at least 21 hours a week taking photographs of all of the adoptable animals posted at www.Petango.com for citizens to view. Gina’s diligent efforts ensure that each animal is pictured on this website. The service she provides allows owners to see if their lost animal is at the center, as well as giving potential adopters the opportunity to view adoptable pets from their home.

Gina serves as a Networking Volunteer Coordinator that assists new volunteers that sign up to assist with pet portal photography. She is a great asset to Animal Services, and a leader who always has a smile on her face. Gina’s favorite quote is, “We’re off like a herd of turtles!” which exemplifies her fun and enthusiastic personality. She says, “The best part of volunteering is feeling like I make a difference in the live release rate.”

Animal Services Volunteer Administrator Cheri Colbert stated, “We need more volunteers like Gina who are committed and consistent. She can be counted on because she is passionate about the animals at Arlington Animal Services.”

Congratulations Gina!
