By Arlington Police Department
Today, the Arlington Police Department was notified that a man who was critically injured in a recent auto-pedestrian collision has died from his injuries.
On Friday, October 31, 2025, at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of W. Randol Mill Road to investigate the collision. When they arrived on scene, they found a 76-year-old man lying in the roadway and bleeding. He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased by medical staff on November 5, 2025.
Accident Investigators determined the man attempted to cross Randol Mill Road and was struck by a construction truck traveling in the westbound lanes. The driver of the truck immediately stopped, remained on scene, and was cooperative with the investigation.
The man was not using a designated crosswalk at the time. Investigators also reviewed video evidence that showed it was dark outside when the collision occurred, and the driver could not see the man in time to avoid hitting him. They do not believe speed was a factor.
No criminal charges have been filed in the case.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased.
The Arlington Police Department wants to remind pedestrians that they should always use designated crosswalks or traffic lights when attempting to cross roadways, especially when visibility outside is reduced.
