WATER RESOURCES SERVICES :: TREATMENT

Water Resource Services safeguards the City of Arlington water and wastewater systems through applicable federal, state and local regulations.  These regulations are implemented in the Industrial Pretreatment, Backflow Prevention, Grease Abatement, Liquid Waste Transporter and Watershed Protection programs of the City of Arlington.

Backflow Prevention
The City of Arlington developed and implemented a backflow prevention program as required by state and federal regulations.  The purpose of the program is to protect the integrity of the water distribution system as well as the health, safety, and general welfare of the people who use it.

Grease Interceptors and Sand Traps
Grease interceptors are required at businesses where there is food preparation and/or clean up from food preparation.

Industrial Pretreatment
The Industrial Pretreatment program regulates the disposal of industrial wastewater through applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations.  The rules and regulations are designed to protect the wastewater treatment plant from pollutants that cause an upset or pass through.  The Program also protects the physical infrastructure for safe operation and maintenance of the wastewater collection system.
