CUSTOMER SERVICE :: BILLING AND RATES :: Your Right to Request Confidentiality

House Bill 859, dated 1993, affects the release of selected customer information by government-operated utilities.  Arlington Water Utilities' customers may submit a request to prevent the release of their personal information, including address, telephone number, and social security number.

However, we must still give out this information, if requested, to federal and state agencies, other utilities, consumer reporting agencies, Arlington Water Utilities contractors, other governmental agencies, and people to whom a customer has contractually waived confidentiality.

If you do not want Arlington Water Utilities to release your address, telephone number, or social security number to entities not excluded by the law, we must have a request form, signed by you, in our files.

To request a Confidentiality form:

• Download the Confidentiality form (pdf): fill it out and sign it, then mail or bring it to our office

or

• call 817-275-5931 during our daytime business hours to ask a Customer Services Representative to mail or fax a form to you

or

• email us at water@arlingtontx.gov with your name and service address to ask a Customer Services Representative to mail or fax a form to you
