Four Returning Council Members Take Oath of Office
Two Other Special Honors Are Bestowed

This month, the oath of office was administered to four Arlington City Council members returning to office after winning re-election in May.

The returning City Council members are: District 3 City Council member Robert Rivera, District 4 City Council member Kathryn Wilemon, District 5 Council member Lana Wolff and District 8 City Council member Gene Patrick. All are returning for two-year terms. Their terms will expire in May 2009.

This month, the Arlington City Council elected At-Large District 7 Ron Wright to continue a one-year term as Mayor Pro Tempore. According to the city’s charter, the mayor pro tempore performs the duties of the mayor in his absence.

City Council members elected District 2 Council member Sheri Capehart as the deputy mayor pro tempore. She will perform official duties in the absence of the mayor and mayor pro tempore.
