TRAFFIC :: TRAFFIC OPERATIONS

Traffic Operations is responsible for installing and maintaining all traffic signals, traffic signs, pavement markings, barricades, guardrails, flashing school zones, warning flashers, flood gates, traffic signal computer system and parking lot gates.

Goal

To provide for the safe and efficient movement of traffic throughout the city, through proper sign, signal and pavement markings installations and maintenance.

Objectives

To respond to emergency traffic signal calls within 30 minutes
To respond to any damaged stop sign within 20 minutes
To project future needs in traffic control devices and equipment

Operating Hours

Normal working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, someone is always on 24 hour call for emergency services throughout the year.

Report Malfunctions

To report any damage or traffic control device malfunction, telephone: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday - 817-459-5400. After normal working hours, contact the Arlington Police Department at 817-274-4444.

Vandalism

We encourage you as a citizen to report to the Traffic Operations Division or Police Department any vandalism to traffic control devices. Traffic control devices are in place for your safety. Please report to 817-459-5400 as soon as possible after observing any type of vandalism.
