ENGINEERING :: TYPICAL DETAILS

The detail sheets presented here are "typicals" which should be utilized on projects involving these facilities for public construction.  They are not to be modified unless you do not concur with the design or you feel they need modification due to a specific circumstance.  In both instances you will need to make a written request and receive written authorization from the Department of Public Works for any modifications.  You may contact the Department of Public Works by using the Contact Us link.

It is your responsibility to verify that you have obtained the most current detail sheets from this website.  We recommend checking this website for revisions regularly.  All detail sheets submitted to the Department of Public Works shall be sealed, signed, and dated by a Licensed Engineer.

Texas Department of Transportation

The Department of Public Works has chosen to utilize certain existing Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) detail sheets to complement our in-house detail sheets.  These detail sheets are not available on our website.  However, they may be obtained from TxDOT's website.  From their main menu, select e-Business, then CAD Standards.  Continue through the menus to reach each detail listed below.

Bridge Standards \ Railing Standards \ Miscellaneous Rails \

  • Steel Pipe Pedestrian Rail (PR1)

Roadway Standards \ Barriers (Flexible)

  • Metal Beam Guard Fence (MBGF-03)
