Construction Services is made up of two functional areas:  Inspection and Survey.

The Inspection group provides construction job site inspection and materials testing services in support of the Department of Public Works, Parks and Recreation Department, and Water Utilities Department. It takes those actions necessary to remove impediments to the successful completion of projects on time and within budget. This division also provides technical assistance to other city departments regarding public works construction methods and materials.

The Survey group provides design and construction surveying support to the Department of Public Works and provides other City departments with surveying assistance on a prioritized basis. Design surveys are used by the Engineering Operations Division to design capital street and drainage projects. Construction staking is provided for construction contractors on all department managed street projects.
