SIGNS

Our Field Operations Division also maintains over 35,000 signs.  All signage must comply with national standards set forth in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the mandates of the State of Texas in accordance with the Texas Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD) rules and regulations.  One of the requirements for signs is reflectivity and over time signs lose their reflective properties.  We attempt to replace all signs on a seven to ten year cycle.  If you find a sign that is hard to see, hidden behind a branch or other obstruction, or is missing, please contact us using the Report a Problem link.

The field Operations Division is also responsible for ensuring yellow and white lines on pavement and crosswalks are properly maintained.
