HOMELESS GRANT FUNDS
Emergency Shelter Grant

The City of Arlington received $139,508 this past year from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to fund agencies that serve the homeless. All interested organizations responded to a Request for Proposal (grant application) and the City Council awarded the funds to four agencies.

The Arlington Life Shelter received a grant to cover expenses for the operation of the shelter. The Arlington Life Shelter feeds and provides emergency housing for homeless persons. For assistance you can call them at 817-548-9885.

The SafeHaven of Tarrant County received a grant to assist with expenses related to the operation of their shelter. They provide emergency assistance for victims of domestic violence. For assistance you can call them at 817-548-0583.

The Salvation Army received a grant to provide a 12 week transitional shelter program for homeless families with children. For assistance you can call them at 817-860-1836.
The Tarrant County Department of Human Services provides rent/mortgage and/or deposit payments to families who are homeless or facing the imminent threat of homelessness. For assistance you can call them at 817-548-3920.
