BUDGET AND PLANNING DOCUMENTS

The City of Arlington received U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds. The City meets a HUD requirement by having a five-year strategic plan for the period from July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2010. This plan provides an overview of the goals and objectives which will guide the City in its expenditure of HUD funds. For further information, see 2005-2010 Consolidated Plan.

Each year, the City of Arlington submits to HUD an Action Plan which lists the proposed projects that will be implemented with HUD funds. The program year is July 1st to June 30th of the following year. Projects are selected that meet the Strategic Plan goals and objectives. For further information on this year’s proposed projects and budgets, see the 2006 Action Plan.

Upon the completion of each program year the City of Arlington submits a report to HUD on the expenditure of funds and a review of the progress made in meeting goals and objectives. For further information on last year’s projects, see the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report.

The City of Arlington has identified the Central Arlington Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area. Various city resources and activities will focus in this area to provide a significant and measurable impact in the oldest section of Arlington.
