River Legacy Parks, the crown jewel of Arlington’s parks system
is located along the banks of the Trinity River in the northwestern
section of Arlington. This 400+ acre forest floodplain park is
Arlington’s segment of a visionary 75-mile greenbelt parkland from
west Fort Worth through east Dallas.
In June 1990, the park was opened and dedicated to the citizenry of
Arlington.

Private donations and grants will be the primary source for future
funding. Tax deductible contributions, bequests, memorials, trusts and
other private donations are being accepted through the River Legacy
Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to the
mission of preserving and enhancing Arlington’s segment of the
