River Legacy Parks, the crown jewel of Arlington’s parks system is located along the banks of the Trinity River in the northwestern section of Arlington. This 400+ acre forest floodplain park is Arlington’s segment of a visionary 75-mile greenbelt parkland from west Fort Worth through east Dallas.

In June 1990, the park was opened and dedicated to the citizenry of Arlington.

Private donations and grants will be the primary source for future funding. Tax deductible contributions, bequests, memorials, trusts and other private donations are being accepted through the River Legacy Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to the mission of preserving and enhancing Arlington’s segment of the Trinity River Floodplain.
