Bob Cooke Park - June 21, 2008
Naturally Fun Neighborhoods took its outdoor fun to the streets
again at Bob Cooke Park on June 21.
The second event built upon the success of the inaugural with an
even greater turnout. Fort Worth Zoo returned with new animals, like
the Blue and Gold Macaw and Burmese Python. The Hugh Smith
Recreation Center opened its indoor pool for learning how to kayak
and the Arlington Police Department featured its Dunk-A-Cop with all
proceeds going to public schools in Arlington. Once again, the
Arlington Parks and Recreation Department set up inflatables and a
soccer clinic and also offered a tennis clinic as well as fitness
walking.

We caught one of the kids trying out the monkey mask he made.
Arlington Parks and Recreation gave out animal masks and temporary
tattoos to attendees of the event.

This girl is just beginning her masterpiece. Kids could choose
from all sorts of animal masks such as monkeys, elephants, and
zebras. Oh my!

Look out Federer! This guy’s got his game face on as he takes a
swing at the tennis clinic.

Parks & Recreation Assistant Director and coordinator of
Naturally Fun Neighborhoods, Gary Packan, finds time for a
father-son moment at the kayaking clinic.
