Lake Arlington Paddling Trail is the first paddling
trail in the Dallas-Fort Worth area as well as the first
flat-water paddling trail in Texas. The construction of Lake
Arlington started on May 15, 1956 and finished on July 19, 1957.
The lake serves area residents as a recreational and fishing
spot and provides water for the City of Arlington. We appreciate
your cooperation in keeping our lake safe and clean!
Lake Arlington Paddling Trail is open to the public from
dawn to dusk.
For your safety, do not remain on the trail outside of these hours.

Trail Description & Landmarks
Paddling Trail Length: ~ 10.9 miles total ~ 4 miles from Richard Simpson Park to Eugene McCray Park ~ 7 miles from Eugene McCray Park to Bowman Springs Park Float Time: ~ 3-6 hours (depending on water level, flow rate and
wind speed) Please note: Official trail does not connect between Bowman
Springs Park and Richard Simpson Park on the eastern edge of the
lake.
