 This 52-acre park was purchased on September 28, 1923, at a cost of
$5,200. Meadowbrook Park touted the first golf course in Arlington. At
one time the ninth tee used to cross through the only softball diamond
located in the city. At the advice of the Park Board, golfers would
yield to the softball players during the evening hours of the summer.
The 13,000 square foot Recreation Center was built on the northern
edge of the park in 1964.
Meadowbrook Recreation Center is a multi-purpose facility designed
to meet the recreational needs of Arlington residents and visitors.
Geared toward athletics, this facility offers a variety of structured
athletic activities. The center is open for reservations during and
after business hours. Center rooms include a gymnasium and classroom
that may be rented for private parties, sporting events, meetings or
banquets. Meadowbrook Recreation Center is a 13,000 square foot
facility located at 1300 East Dugan in Meadowbrook Park which features
picnic tables, playground, pavilion and a nine hole golf course. The
center is open Monday through Saturday and features a fully equipped
weight room available for a small monthly fee. Facility cards are

Fitness Room:
The fitness room features free weights, stair machines, stationary
bikes, treadmills and a universal gym that provides upper and
lower-body workouts. Locker and shower facilities are also available.
Meadowbrook accepts both monthly and annual fees.
Center Programs:
Meadowbrook Recreation Center offers a wide variety of athletic
programs and activities for all ages.
Reservations:
Are you having a family reunion in Arlington? Does your church
outing need a gymnasium, or would you like to treat your teenager and
his/her friends to a party? How about an employee training session,
organizational meeting, baby shower or birthday party?
Meadowbrook Recreation Center is available for all types of
reservations. The gymnasium and classroom may be rented seven days a
week during business hours when center activities are not scheduled,
and after business hours, including overnight reservations Monday
through Sunday.
- Gymnasiums (half or full court): Court has synthetic rubberized
flooring, two basketball goals, volleyball standards and a
bleacher seating area.
- Classroom: Perfect for small meetings or parties. Seating
capacity up to 35.
- Kitchen: Convenient to the classroom, the kitchen is equipped
with a microwave, stove top, refrigerator and ice machine.
- Overnight rentals: Available Monday through Sunday evenings.
Hours vary. Maximum 150 people.
