A division of the Management Resources Department, the Office of
Communication provides news and information about City of Arlington
programs and services.
The Office of Communication is the winner of numerous state and
national communications awards, recognizing excellence in web site,
newsletter and broadcast production.
The OOC organizes news conferences, special events, assists the
news media, issues press releases and publishes the
Arlington Update City
Page Newsletter and
Weekly News
Features on the web site and intranet. Additionally, the Office of
Communication publishes the
Connections
Employee Newsletter, and a variety of special
reports, brochures and news bulletins for the citizens of Arlington
(Fun Times Magazine, Prime Time Magazine, Cowboys Stadium Scoreboard
Report, Entertainment District Newsletter).
The Office of Communication produces live broadcasts of the
Arlington City Council Meetings, City Council Work Sessions, and
Planning and Zoning Commission Meetings on Cable Channel 16.
In a partnership with Time Warner, the OOC produces the Arlington
Update Show, a 30-minute news and information program that
highlights City of Arlington programs and services. The Update Show
is also webcast on the City of Arlington web site.

is home to the Access Arlington Interactive Video Bulletin
Board, which is managed by the Office of Communication.
The Office of Communication maintains the City of Arlington
Internet web site, which serves to promote and market City of
Arlington programs and services 24 hours a day and seven days a
week.
The Office of Communication is also comprised of a Graphics
Office, which assists departments in producing documents. This
office creates original desktop artwork, produces layout and design,
contracts for desktop and art productions, and handles foreign
language document translation.
