Interim Economic Development Manager is Appointed
The City of Arlington has appointed an interim economic
development manager. Bruce Payne will replace Robert Sturns
who has resigned. Payne transitions from his role as the
assistant director of Community Development and Planning.
Sturns last day with the city is Dec. 29.
According to Deputy City Manager Fiona Allen, Payne brings
economic development and community planning experience to
the position. He has worked as a planning director in
Southlake and North Carolina. He has a bachelor’s degree in
urban and regional planning, and a master’s degree in
geography. Payne has been with the City of Arlington since
2005.
The City of Arlington is conducting a national search for an
economic development manager.
