A Call For Student Entries!
Annual MLK Art and Essay Competition is Under Way


Who: Arlington Martin Luther King Jr. Committee

What: Now accepting entries for the 2010 “Sharing the Dream” Art and Essay Competitions

When: Entry deadline is 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009

Where: Open to students attending school or residing within the city limits of Arlington. (Contest entry form and guidelines are attached.) Also open to private, charter and home schools.

Why: To recognize the best in art and literature.

Background

The Arlington Martin Luther King Jr. Committee awards savings bonds and college scholarship dollars through its annual essay and art student competitions.

Judges are looking for original art work and literature that best represent the dream and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year’s theme is “Making a Difference - The Dream Lives On.”

Judging will occur in November. Winners will be notified in December and formally recognized in January during the 21st Annual Arlington MLK “Sharing the Dream” Celebration, Jan. 15-18.
