Mansfield ISD to Close Charlotte Anderson Elementary School Due To H1N1 Flu

What: Notification of H1N1 Impact on Arlington Schools

When: Monday May 4, 2009

Why: The Mansfield Independent School District (MISD) Charlotte Anderson Elementary, is being closed today for one probable H1N1 (swine) flu case and one suspected flu case in the same classroom. MISD will close Charlotte Anderson for the remainder of this week. Classes are set to resume on Monday, May 11.

The Arlington Independent School District (AISD) has been notified about one probable case of H1N1 (swine) flu at Veda Knox Elementary. After consultation with AISD school officials, City of Arlington Office of Emergency Management, and the Arlington Public Health Authority, Dr. Cynthia Simmons, it was determined that Veda Knox Elementary school would not close. All AISD schools remain open as scheduled.

Arlington residents are served by more than one school district. Arlington students go to Arlington, Mansfield, Kennedale, and Grand Prairie independent school districts.
