Success in School Summit is Nov. 1

What: Success in School Summit
When: 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1
Where: Fielder Road Baptist Church, 2011 S. Fielder Rd. in
Arlington
Why: To open dialogue on dropout prevention in Arlington and
surrounding cities. The summit is part of a national dropout
prevention campaign that brings together city and school
administrators, business owners and child advocates to develop
workable solutions and action plans for improving graduation rates
and making sure young people are prepared for college, work and
life.
About the Summit
Arlington’s Success in School Summit is a dialogue on dropout
prevention and part of a national initiative funded in part by a
grant from America’s Promise Alliance. The summit will feature
panels and work sessions led by community experts to identify
barriers to high school graduation. Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck
will provide opening remarks with contributions by Arlington and
Mansfield school district superintendents.
The keynote speaker, District 94 State Representative Dr. Diane
Patrick, will conduct an open dialogue with a panel of area youths
during the summit luncheon. Arlington Chamber of Commerce President
and CEO Wes Jurey will close the summit with a community call to
action.
