Widening of Green Oaks Boulevard in North Arlington Starts

Where: Green Oaks Blvd. from Ballpark Way to State Highway 360
Why: To improve northbound and southbound traffic mobility through
the city
About the Project
Phase I construction begins Sept. 2 and involves the reconstruction
and widening of the southbound lanes of Green Oaks Boulevard from
Ballpark Way to SH 360. Southbound traffic will be diverted to the
northbound lanes for approximately seven months. Anticipate lane
reductions and detours in this area.
During Phase I, Burney Road and Burney Place will be closed.
Phase II will start when Phase I is completed and will include the
reconstruction and widening of the northbound lanes of Green Oaks
Boulevard from Ballpark Way to SH 360.
The entire $4.6 million project is scheduled for completion by late
fall 2009.
This project is funded by bond funds authorized by Arlington voters
in 1999.
