City to Launch TollTag Program
Mayor Among First to Open TollTag Account While at City Hall

Who: City of Arlington and the North Texas Tollway Authority

What: To launch Arlington TollTag program

When: 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 27

Where: Lobby area of the One Start Center located on the second floor of the Arlington Municipal Building, 101 W. Abram St. in downtown Arlington

Why: To offer Arlington residents the opportunity to get a TollTag while at City Hall

Photo Opportunity: Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck and City Council members will open the first TollTag accounts. Representatives from the NTTA will also be present.

Background
According to the NTTA, North Texas drivers travel farther for everyday activities. NTTA TollTags can be used to save drivers time and money on Texas toll roads. With the TollTag, motorists can pay for pass-through and parking at DFW International Airport and Love Field Airport.

When applying for a TollTag, motorists are actually setting up a $40 pre-paid account to cover future toll charges. A credit card is required.

“The Arlington TollTag program will make it easier and more convenient for residents to open a TollTag account while taking care of other important business at City Hall,” said Chief Transportation Planner Alicia Winkelblech.

Did you know? Approximately five percent of the region’s TollTag accounts are held by Tarrant County motorists. Joining the NTTA’s Third Party Vendor Program will help to increase the number of TollTag accounts in Tarrant County, and increase the percentage of funding available to the county for future transportation projects.

The NTTA provides a system of toll facilities, services and solutions that improve the mobility, quality of life and economy of the North Texas region. They are governed by a nine-member board of directors comprised of representatives from Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant counties.
