Saturday, May 24, The park is located at 950 SE Green Oaks Blvd. in
south Arlington. It is the first of its kind in the city.
Saturday’s ceremony will include Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck and

city will also unveil the park’s new name, Tails ‘N Trails.
The name was chosen as the winning entry in a citywide naming
contest conducted last year. Six Wags and The Bark Park in Arlington
placed second and third respectively. The contest received 1,276
entries.
The citizen-driven initiative for a park designed especially for
dogs was led by Responsible Unleashed Fun for Fido or RUFF.
“The fundraising was done with our Barks for Parks events and
other smaller activities to raise over $50,000,” said lead organizer
Bonnie Bowman.
The park features an area for large dogs and an area for small dogs.
There are open grassy areas and wooded trails for walking dogs in a
natural setting.
Before the dedication and naming ceremony, dogs and their owners are
invited to participate in the Tails ‘N Trails 4K Dog Walk, which
starts at 8 a.m. in Cravens Park, 400 Cravens Drive. The walk will
conclude at the new park. Proceeds from the walk will benefit
further additions to Tails 'N Trails.
