Saturday is Arbor Day
Celebrate with Arlington Parks and Recreation at Richard Simpson

Why: Part of national celebrated observance that encourages tree
planting and preservation
About the Celebration
The Arbor Day celebration starts at 8 a.m. in Richard Simpson Park,
6300 W. Arkansas Lane. Free trees will be given to each family or
participant. Event will feature activities for all ages, including
animal demonstrations, bounce houses, a fishing tank, live music,
canoe rentals and concessions.
The Arbor Day Adventure Race will begin at 8:30 a.m. and include a
canoe trek, obstacle course and one-mile run. Life vests and canoes
will be provided for each participant, along with a finisher’s medal
and gift bag for the first 100 participants. The Adventure Race is
open to ages 7 and up. Entry fee is $30 per person. Registration has
been extended through race day. Register by calling 817-459-5474 or

entry fee will be charged.
