The City’s recent environmental achievements include the establishment of the Arlington Green Team and the Green Policy Council. In addition, the City Council has adopted the Clean Green Arlington Plan, which focuses waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation and clean air.

The Green Team is a voluntary recycling program set up to recognize area businesses for recycling efforts and to assist Arlington businesses with the setup and expansion of programs. The program encourages businesses to recycle and track efforts in reducing the amount of commercial waste going to the city’s landfill. For more details about the Arlington Green Team, visit www.arlingtongreenteam.com or contact the City’s Environmental Services Coordinator, Tim Yatko, at 817-459-6152.

Special Note:
In partnership with Arlington Independent School District, environmental entries from the 2008 PTA Reflections “I Can Make a Difference Contest” will be on public display in the Hall of Mayors. GM will also have a Hybrid Tahoe showcased in the parking lot near the Council Chamber.
