Governor’s Office Seals Deal
United States Bowling Congress to Move Headquarters to Arlington
The deal has been sealed. The United States Bowling Congress will
move its headquarters to Arlington, bringing nearly 200 jobs and $13
million in capital investment to Texas.
Following the state’s announcement of a $693,000 award from the
Texas Enterprise Fund, Arlington Economic Development Manager Robert
Sturns said the city is preparing for the next and final step in the
process. The Arlington City Council is expected to vote on an
estimated $225,000 in local incentives next month. He said the City
of Arlington will also seek State Enterprise Zone Project
designation, which could provide additional state incentives up to
$300,000.
“This project is a direct result of some very strong
partnerships,” Sturns said Tuesday. “This is a great win for the
state, city and entire region.”
Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck said the creation of an
international bowling campus in Arlington enhances the city’s
opportunity to showcase its thriving Entertainment District and
tourism industry.
