Seasonal and Part-Time Opportunities Abound
Mayor’s Youth Commission to Host Job and College Prep Fair
A Job and College Prep Fair for teens and adults interested in
seasonal and part-time employment is being organized by the City of
Arlington Mayor’s Youth Commission.
The event is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the Bob Duncan
Center located at 2800 S. Center St.
“This will be the perfect opportunity for area youth to see
available work options and learn valuable skills for college
preparation,” said Yvonne Falgout, Arlington Parks and Recreation
Programs Manager. “The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department has
many seasonal and part-time employment opportunities for youth
during the spring and summer.”
City of Arlington Parks and Recreation Aquatics, Athletics and
Golf divisions, as well as City of North Richland Hills, City of
Euless, YMCA, Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor, University of
Texas at Arlington, Texas Wesleyan University, U.S. Navy and U.S.
Army will be accepting applications and providing information about
their business or agency. The job fair will give a larger and more
diverse applicant pool for finding qualified employees to help meet
the service needs of customers, Falgout said.
Some of the available job positions include swim instructors,
lifeguards, concession workers, cashiers, softball field attendants,
sports officials, grounds maintenance workers, day camp counselors
and customer service staff. Most jobs offer a flexible schedule.
Three clinics are scheduled during the fair to assist youth with
job readiness, college preparation and college admissions. Workforce
Solutions of the Tarrant County Youth Division will host two of the
clinics.
