The amphitheater will be the crowning jewel in a new central park
that will help define a new future for downtown Arlington.
About the Junior League
The Junior league of Arlington is an organization of women
dedicated to promoting volunteerism and improving the community
through effective action and leadership. They celebrated 25 years of
service in 2007. The $50,000 check from the Arlington Tomorrow
Foundation will be used to fund the interactive fountain feature in
Founders Plaza. The League has raised $100,000 to fund this project.
About the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation
The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation was incorporated by the State
of Texas in 2007 to oversee an endowment fund created from natural
gas revenue realized on city-owned property. Ninety percent of gas
well lease bonus earnings and 50 percent of all royalties earned
from the wells go into a permanent endowment fund. The interest
earnings from this fund are distributed through community grants.
Did you know? To date, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation
has awarded more than $525,000 to support Arlington area programs
that benefit the community. Learn more about the foundation at
