PRESS RELEASES - January 2008
January 10, 2008
City Launches Sixth Annual Arlington Reads Program
Look who’s reading. It’s Brickman, the bomb-sniffing dog. Along with
Deputy Fire Marshal Darin L. Niederhaus, Brickman is on the first of
12 “Read a Mystery” posters for 2008 as part of Arlington Reads, a
collaborative project of the Arlington Public Library, UT Arlington
and the Arlington Independent School District.
Essay competitions, book group discussions, a forensic education
boot camp, interactive murder mystery night and free movies are just
a few of the communitywide programs set to begin in February.

As part of the program, “Read a Mystery” posters will be displayed
at all public libraries, recreation centers and AISD schools.
Posters are changed out each month and spotlight 12 local
celebrities and their favorite mystery books.
The posters are sponsored by the City of Arlington, the Arlington
Public Library System and the Friends of the Arlington Public
Library.
Watch for a new poster each month in 2008.
