News Briefing to Discuss Recent Hate Crime

WHY: To
address a recent incident of criminal mischief involving hate in a
north Arlington neighborhood.
The news briefing
will include Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck, District 1 Council member
Mel LeBlanc, City Manager Jim Holgersson, Police Chief Theron Bowman
and Arlington Branch NAACP President Rita Sibert.
Background
The
Arlington Police Department has distributed informational bulletins to
neighbors in the 700 block of Ross Trail in north Arlington where two
homeowners were victimized over the Christmas holiday. According to
APD, offenses of criminal mischief occurred on the couple’s unfinished
home at 704 Ross Trail. One of the homeowners was assaulted. An
arrest has been made and APD is seeking additional information.
