Municipal Office Tower Gets New Address
Municipal Court Leads Public Awareness Campaign

WHAT: New address for Municipal Office Tower
WHEN: Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 1
WHERE: 101 S. Mesquite St. (formerly 201 E. Abram St.)
WHY: To improve accessibility to municipal services and programs
located within the Municipal Office Tower.
“We want to make it easier for the public to find us,” said
Municipal Court Services Director David Preciado whose office serves
more than 1,000 customers per day. “The entrance from Mesquite
Street brings you directly to the Tower and many other city
offices.”
The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over Class C misdemeanor
citations and is responsible for collecting court fees and fines,
and maintaining all records of the court and setting trial dockets.
The awareness campaign includes new signage, newspaper ads and
notices on web and cable.
Background
The City of Arlington acquired the Municipal Office Tower in 2001
(formerly Frost Bank Building) Within the building, the following
city services can be found: Municipal Court, City Attorney’s Office,
Environmental Services, Community Service, Workforce Service,
Information Technology and Financial Services. After 25 years at 200
W. Abram St., Municipal Court relocated to the first and second
floors of the tower in June 2007.
