Property Owners Encouraged to Consult with Their Insurance Provider

What: Could be paying lower insurance premiums in 2008
When: Beginning Saturday, Dec. 1
Where: Eligible homeowners within the city limits of Arlington
Why: The City of Arlington earned a public protection rating
improvement in August 2007.

policies. The new rate becomes effective Saturday, Dec. 1.
Background
This year, the City of Arlington earned a 2 rating from the state’s
Insurance Services Office, which is responsible for rating
communities from 1 to 10 on their ability to protect the public from
the hazard of fire. The agency uses a public protection
classification system that scores a community’s water supply,
equipment, fire alarm processing and fire prevention efforts.
The City of Arlington has had a 3 rating for about 17 years. The new
rating places Arlington in the top two percent of cities in the U.S.
with a 2 rating or better.
Ensure awareness of Arlington’s new Insurance Service Office rating
by contacting your insurance provider. For more information, contact
