City Manager to Present Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2008

Who: Arlington City Manager Jim Holgersson

What: To present the proposed City of Arlington operating budget for Fiscal Year 2008

When: 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7

Where: Council Briefing Room located on the third floor at City Hall, 101 W. Abram St. The meeting will be broadcast live on Arlington Cable Channel 16. Proposed budget is available at www.arlingtontx.gov. A series of public meetings will begin August 15. (Schedule is attached)

Why: To develop a spending plan to fund City Council priorities and operational costs for FY 2008. The new budget year begins October 1.

“With new development, new economic engines, significant investments in city facilities and infrastructure, and more opportunities to leverage our resources with community partners, Arlington is poised for excellence,” said City Manager Jim Holgersson.

Public Meetings About the Proposed Budget

Members of the Arlington City Council will host a series of public meetings about the proposed budget for FY 2008. The schedule is as follows:

7 p.m. Wednesday, August 15

Hosted by District 2 Council Member Sheri Capehart

6:30 p.m. Monday, August 20
Bob Duncan Center at 2800 S. Center St.
Hosted by District 3 Council Member Robert Rivera

6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 21
City Hall - Council Briefing Room (Third floor) at 101 W. Abram St.

6:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 22
