Arlington Tomorrow Foundation to Award Its First $1 Million

Check Presentation is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chamber
This week, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation will make its first
$1 million investment into the community.
The River Legacy Foundation is the $1 million award recipient for
its environmental efforts to preserve and enhance land along the
Trinity River.
Following a reception at City Hall, Arlington Tomorrow Foundation
Board members will present the check during a special presentation
at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, in Council Chamber at 101 W. Abram
St.
According to Arlington Tomorrow Foundation Board President Ron
Wright, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation has been incorporated by
the State of Texas and granted an official charge to make monetary
investments into the Arlington community with funds derived from
natural gas revenues on city-owned property. Ninety percent of gas
well lease bonus earnings and 50 percent of all royalties earned
from the wells will go into a permanent endowment fund. According to
the foundation, the interest earnings from the fund will be
distributed locally through community grants.
