Arlington Assists Residents with Debris Clean Up
Mayor Robert Cluck said that the recent severe storms are
requiring the City to take extraordinary steps to assist residents
with cleaning up their property.
“Just as City property suffered damage, we know that residents
have also seen damage to their homes and property,” Cluck said. “We
want to partner with neighborhoods to help in your clean up
efforts.”
The City of Arlington in association with its waste disposal
contractor, Arlington Disposal, has begun to collect debris
associated with last week’s storm and will have additional trucks
out Wednesday to pick up debris in the areas most affected by recent
storms. This is the residential area around Sam Houston High School,
Arlington Memorial Hospital, and Lake Arlington.
Additional brush chippers will also be deployed in the impact areas.
The chippers can handle a diameter of approximately 6" and will work
exclusively on brush debris.
The City and Arlington Disposal will pick up all storm debris
placed at the curb.
Though there are limited resources for handling larger trees, the
City will make every effort to minimize the delays in processing
larger material.
Residents are asked to keep the brush and tree debris separated
from other materials, to the extent possible at the curbside. This
will facilitate collection efforts and allow for the mulching of the
brush. Size and bundle requirements will be waived for the near
future.
Due to the volume of the debris, all of the material may not be
picked up the first time around.
Citizens are asked to call 817-459-6777 if they have questions.
