Application Process for City Boards and Commissions is Under Way
Application Deadline is May 4

Members of a City Board or Commission assist the Mayor and City Council and make recommendations on general policy matters that impact the quality of life in Arlington. Most Boards and Commissions function in advisory capacities and some have final decision-making authority. Some board positions may require specialized experiences and/or licensing. Please visit the City of Arlington website for qualifications. Members serve two-year terms and are appointed by the Mayor and City Council. The application deadline is Friday, May 4.

According to the Arlington Office of the Mayor and Council, appointments are scheduled to be made in June. Terms will begin July 1.

These Boards and Commissions are now accepting membership applications:

Animal Services Advisory Board - Three vacant positions
Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors - One vacant position
Arlington Sports Facilities Development Authority - Three vacant positions
Building Code Board of Appeals - One vacant position
Electrical Code Board of Appeals - Three vacancies
Emergency Physician’s Advisory Board - Four vacant positions
Ethics Review Commission - Four vacant positions
Housing Authority - Three vacant positions
Landmark Preservation Commission - Four vacant positions
Library Board - One vacant position
License and Amortization Appeal Board - One vacant position
Parks and Recreation Board - Five vacant positions
Planning and Zoning Commission - Four vacant positions
Special Transportation Advisory Board - One vacant position
Zoning Board of Adjustment - Three vacant positions
