MLK Celebration Committee Announces “Sharing the Dream” Award Winners

This week, the Arlington Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee announced the winners of the 2007 Sharing the Dream Awards.

The winners will be formally recognized at the “Sharing the Dream” Awards Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12. Tickets for the banquet can be purchased at the Star-Telegram Customer Service Office at 1111 W. Abram St. or by calling 817-548-5400. The banquet will also feature winners of the “Sharing the Dream” Student Essay and Art competitions.

The “Sharing the Dream” Banquet is the kickoff event for four days of multicultural celebrations in Arlington.

The 2007 Sharing the Dream Award winners are:

Sharing the Dream Award in Education
Sheryl Rose, retired educator and administrator

Sharing the Dream Award in Community Service
Wesley McDuffie, community volunteer

Sharing the Dream Award in Government
Tom Vandergriff, former Tarrant county judge, Arlington mayor and U.S. congressman
