PRESS RELEASES - DECEMBER 2006
Fire Station No. 7 to Undergo Major Renovations
Beginning Monday, Crews and Equipment Relocate to Adjoining Stations
December 8, 2006
Renovations at Fire Station No. 7 will require the temporary
relocation of crews and equipment beginning Monday, Dec. 11.
Crews and equipment from the station at 4000 Little Road will be
relocating to Station No. 13 at 7100 Russell Curry Road and Station
No. 14 at 5501 Ron McAndrew Drive.
The renovations are expected to take four to six months.
According to Arlington Assistant Fire Chief Brian Riley,
approximately $800,000 in interior renovations will improve
accommodations for male and female firefighters. The backup system
for the 9-1-1 dispatch center will be renovated along with
improvements in the area which houses the equipment and supplies for
the Dive Rescue Team.
“When all renovations are complete, the layout of the station will
become a lot more conducive to our day-to-day operations,” Riley
said.
The improvements are funded by bond funds approved by Arlington
voters in 2003. Earlier this year, similar renovations were
completed at Fire Stations 6 and 8.
For more information about the renovations occurring at Fire Station
No. 7, call Brian Riley at 817-459-5500 or e-mail
