Public Hearing is Thursday, Nov. 30
November 17, 2006
The City of Arlington Landmark Preservation Commission will
conduct a public hearing to provide an update on the Historic
Resources Survey. The survey is an inventory of pre-1960
historically significant structures, buildings, places, and objects
of architectural, historical, and cultural value located within the
city limits of Arlington.
The public hearing is 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, in Room 110 of
the Arlington Human Services Complex located at 501 W. Sanford St.
in Arlington. Komatsu Architecture, Inc. is leading the Historic
Resources Survey team. Phases I and II are complete.
- Phase I updated the 1987 Historic Resources Survey which
documented pre-World War II properties and surveyed all
properties within the boundaries of the Old Town and South
Center Street Historic Districts
- Phase II completed a survey of pre-1945 properties that were
not identified by the 1987 Historic Resources Survey.
- Phase III will identify, record, and assess structures and
developments that are now over 50 years old, post-World War II
until 1955.
Phase III of Arlington’s Historic Resources Survey captured the
attention of Governing, a national magazine which reports on state
and local government issues. Read the article at
