Second Annual MLK “Sharing the Dream” Awards Nominations are
Announced
Entry Deadline is Thursday, November 30

The nomination process for the Second Annual Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr. “Sharing the Dream” Awards is under way. The awards program
is sponsored by the Arlington Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration
Committee. Nominations will close on Thursday, November 30.
There are three categories:
Sharing the Dream Award in Education - Nominations are
open to all elementary and secondary school teachers, principals or
other education professionals whose spirit of leadership in
education exemplifies the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Nominees can be a Texas educator at an elementary, middle, high
school, community college, college, or university within the city
limits of Arlington. Nominations are open to public, private and
charter schools.
Sharing the Dream Award in Government - Nominations are
open to all whose accomplishments in areas of public policy and
government exemplifies the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Nominations are open to all employees at the national, state,
county, regional or municipal levels of government who reside in
Arlington. Elected officials are eligible.
Sharing the Dream Award in Community Service - Nominations
are open to all whose volunteer service in the Arlington community
exemplifies the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Nominations are
open to all Arlington businesses, religious organizations, community
service non-profit organizations or individuals.
Nomination form and additional criteria are posted on the
UT-Arlington website at

formally recognized at the Sharing the Dream Banquet on Friday,
January 12 in the Bluebonnet Ballroom at UT-Arlington. Tickets to
the banquet will go on sale in December.
