Early voting begins Monday, May 1, and the City of
Arlington is announcing a few new improvements in the election
process.
The Arlington Municipal Building has become a new
Early Voting location, and three new polling locations are opening in
south Arlington on Election Day.
Registered voters can cast ballots at any Early
Voting location in Tarrant County. Until now, registered voters
residing in Arlington were required to vote at an Early Voting
location within the city limits.
On Election Day, Arlington voters can vote in one
location, and cast one ballot for issues pertaining to the city,
school and county. Before now, voting in a county or school issues
required casting ballots at separate locations.
Early voting is May 1 - 9. Election Day is
Saturday, May 13. In Arlington, voters will be electing Arlington City
Council members for Single Member Districts 1 and 2 and At-Large
Districts 6 and 7. Arlington voters will also be casting ballots "For
or Against" the reauthorization of the local sales and use tax at the
rate of one-fourth of one-percent to continue providing revenue for
maintenance and repair of municipal streets.
