Calender Road from Redstone Drive to Curry Road in
southeast Arlington re-opened this week to two-way traffic.
For about 14 months, motorists experienced
intermittent road closures and detours while contractors set culvert
sections and completed construction of the new bridge at Sublett
Creek.
According to Construction Manager Steve Cooke,
Calender Road is being widened with the addition of two new bike
paths. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the summer
2006.
The project is part of $4.8 million in street and
drainage improvements authorized by voters in a 1999 Bond Election.
