An Evening with Poet Timothy Young

The George W. Hawkes Central Library is pleased to host an evening with Timothy Young on February 8 at 7 p.m.  Young is an award-winning poet who pulls from the depths of nature and culture to create his work.  If you have ever walked in the woods, or watched a sunset with wonder and appreciation, you will want to be here.  He will read various selections including some from his latest publication, Building in Deeper Water. He will also provide commentary and background for his thought provoking and introspective work. The UTA Jazz Combo will set the mood for the evening with performances before and after Young’s readings.

Northeast Reading Group

Join the Northeast Arlington Reading Group on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. for good books and conversation. For more information call 817-277-5573.

  • February 9 – Pompeii by Robert Harris

Tax Resources Online and @ Your Library

The Arlington Public Library System has several resources to help you through the tax season.  Visit your local library for tax forms, and pick up books and other available materials to help you complete your taxes. Access online tax resources at one of our public access computers or from your home PC. For answers to your questions, stop by the Reference Desk at any library location or utilize the Answer Zone, the library’s new 24/7 online chat reference service.  Please note: Library staff are unable to provide tax advice, but are pleased to help you locate the resources you need. If you need advice on preparing your tax returns, the Arlington Public Library system has partnered with the AARP to provide AARP Tax-Aide at all library locations beginning in February.
