The location and time have been changed for
Monday’s Town Hall Meeting.
Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem Joe Bruner will host a Town

Cafeteria at 2601 Shadow Ridge Drive. The meeting was originally
scheduled for Nichols Junior High School. The time was changed to
accommodate the change in location.
A second meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, December 13 in the Shackelford Junior High School Cafeteria,
2000 N. Fielder Road.
Council member Bruner is hosting two Town Hall
Meetings this month in District 1 to discuss the proposed mixed-use
development zoning overlay district for the Lamar Boulevard and South
Collins Street areas.
According to the City’s Planning and Development
Services Department, the Lamar/ Collins Mixed-Use Overlay District
will allow a variety of housing types to exist among neighborhood
services such as small grocery stores, tailors and dry cleaners. The
intent is to establish architectural character and to encourage
economic development and a pedestrian friendly environment. The zoning
overlay district is the subject of a public hearing at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, December 20, during the Arlington City Council meeting.
District 1 is bounded by Division Street on the
south and the city limits on the north. It is also bounded by Great
Southwest Parkway and SH 360 on the east, and Fielder Road and the
city limits on the west.
