Explore Narnia! is 6:30 p.m. Thursday, December
8, at the George W. Hawkes Central Library Computer Training Center.
Children ages 7 to 12 will explore selected Internet sites about C.S.
Lewis’ Narnia series and create personalized bookmarks from The
Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe to print and take home.
Registration is limited to 10 students. Please call 817-459-6900 and
select option 4, and then option 2.
Mayor Robert Cluck’s Holiday Party for Kids is
2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 10, at the George W. Hawkes Central
Library. Mayor and Mrs. Cluck will read holiday stories, and children
will enjoy refreshments, arts and crafts and other activities. This
event is free. Registration is not required.
Visit to Narnia is 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December
17, at the George W. Hawkes Central Library. Whether or not you have
read the book, The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe, or seen
the new movie, you can still visit the enchanted land of Narnia. There
will be dramatic readings from the book, games to play and crafts to
make – but keep an eye out for the White Witch. This free program is
appropriate for children in elementary school. Registration is not
required.
I Smell Chocolate! is 2:30 p.m. Saturday,
December 17, at the East Arlington Branch Library. Do chocolate,
cinnamon and peppermint remind you of the holidays? Then join us for
an hour of
fun and test your knowledge with chocolate trivia
and games; make a holiday ornament of peppermint play dough to take
home and learn how to make holiday treats for your whole family. This
program is free for children up to age 9 and their parents.
Snowflakes is 4 p.m. Monday, December 19, at
the George W. Hawkes Central Library Computer Training Center. A
computer class all about snowflakes will help children ages 7 to 12
start the winter break with a chill! Discover that no two snowflakes
are alike by using Microsoft Word and a digital camera to create a
personalized snowflake ornament or bookmark. Registration is limited
to 10 students. Call 817-459-6900 and select option 4 and then option
2.
Puppet Theater is 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December
29, at the Lake Arlington Branch Library. Enjoy two charming puppet
plays by the Lake Arlington Teen Players and, afterward, make your own
stick puppets to take home. This program is for children in
kindergarten through fourth grade.
